Can you share a little of your professional background?
I started programming at the age of 14, writing small games and programmes for fun. A few years later I wrote custom OS kernel with filesystem, device drivers and some utilities. Since high school I have participated in programming contests and was a member of the Informatics team of the University of Plovdiv. In university, compiler construction caught my interest and I wrote several compilers and interpreters for C, C# and Pascal. My academic research is in the fields of e-learning and applied artificial intelligence, for which I received a PhD degree. In my professional career I worked on a diverse range of projects, varied from medial software, shop management, printer drivers, e-commerce products, e-government services, banking solutions to ware house management.
Can you describe your role at Vereign?
I am a Senior Software Developer at Vereign. I like to say that my role is all about turning our great ideas into reality. This involves solving problems and implementing features across all the tiers of our platform. My main focus is on the backend services. I am responsible for the management of electronic certificates and protecting users’ emails and documents with digital signatures. Part of my job is also the development of the database layer and involvement in shaping the architecture of our solution,
Vereign is all about openness, security and the Open Source community. Can you tell us why this is so important to you?
These aspects are all very important in my opinion. The main reason is that Open Source technologies that are created today form the basis of a better informed and modern society tomorrow. In the digital age, users’ privacy and security are a paramount concern. Open Source technologies provide for transparency in user data handling, easy customisation of software and early discovery flaws.
How would you describe yourself?
What is your biggest accomplishment?
I would say that I consider the great friendships that I have made in my life as my greatest accomplishment.
Claim to fame
